Description

Another Way raises funds to help children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are also low-income. On September 9th, 2023, Another Way will host its 24th Annual Golf Tournament with the goal to raise over $160,000 to support its Programs and Services. We are striving to reach $10,000 in raffle ticket purchases and silent auction bids.                  .

Another Way’s Golf Tournament, now in its 24th year, is a purposeful occasion where people come together to have fun while supporting the needs of children and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.  The Mixer and Tournament take place over two days. The first night is our Mixer where sponsors and golfers are invited to come and meet one another and learn more about Another Way's impact. Bright and early the next morning our golf tournament begins. Our sponsors do their best to outplay one another, all for a good cause of course! After a day on the greens, we come together at a banquet where we celebrate the winning teams and share the work Another Way is doing to improve the community. At the banquet we explain and remind our guests that we could not help our clients without their support. They are the reason we’re able to pay someone’s rent or provide food to over 650 families. There are typically 160-170 golfers at our tournament and about 250 people attend our banquet.

Funds raised provide emergency support (rental assistance, food, shelter, burial funds, clothing, mobility equipment, dental funds, etc.) to approximately 1000 individuals each year. The reality is many of our clients survive on $900 a month. It is often difficult for our clients to get back on stable ground when a set-back such as an illness, job loss or the passing of a caregiver occurs. Situations like these can wreak havoc on a person’s ability to maintain independence. Another Way intervenes by providing case management and monetary assistance.
