The EPIC Learning Community and APIASA are two organizations that support Stockton's AAPI students and faculty/staff at Delta College. The city of Stockton has a large working-class community of Southeast Asians (e.g., Filipino, Hmong, Lao) who are massively underserved; they are classified as Disproportionately Impacted (DI) by the college in both achievement and their financial ability to afford college. Because of this, our two organizations award 5-10 scholarships annually to our AAPI students that are 100% funded by donations from the community and through fundraisers.

The pandemic took a huge hit on our ability to fund our scholarships, because our annual May banquet (our largest fundraiser of the year) was canceled for multiple years. Sadly, we have had to decrease our awards to the fewest scholarships ever awarded in our 35-year history as a result.

This spring, we are bringing back our May banquet where we are hoping to revive our fundraising efforts through a raffle. Given the pandemic's huge impact on our ability to fund scholarships, it would mean the world to our students if your organization would be willing to donate to our prize pool. We are hoping to use these donations as raffle prizes at our banquet, which will be a 3-hour event attended by 100-200 people.
