Every year, APIL hosts an auction to raise funds for summer public interest stipends to fund law students working in unpaid public sector internships over the summer.  Last year, through the auction and the generous support of the Tsai Center and the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation, we were able to fund 18 students by providing them with $3,000 summer stipends.  This year, we have the goal of funding 20 students and hopefully also increasing the stipend amount to $4,000.  We would really love to have your support and assistance in raising funds for our students! Our event will have many attendees consisting of law students, law professors, and practicing attorneys. 

The Association for Public Interest Law (APIL) will hold its annual auction on Thursday, March 6, 2024. This year’s auction will be held at the Perot Museum on the fourth floor, where the dinosaurs, birds, and universe exhibits are located. It is sure to be a fun event for a great cause!


We hope that you will contribute to our event’s success by attending or generously donating to the APIL auction. With the help of last year’s sponsors, we were able to supply stipends to 18 hardworking students who spent more than six weeks devoting legal services to nonprofit or charitable organizations. Please help us meet our fundraising goal of providing 20 stipends this year.

We appreciate your kind generosity in the form of monetary and in-kind donations (merchandise, event tickets, or services).

In appreciation of your generosity, all donors will receive two admission tickets to the auction. In addition, all auction donations are tax deductible because SMU is a 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID 75-0800689).
