Description

Every year, the Arizona Backyard Beekeepers Association puts on a free family fun event to help educate the community about the importance of honeybees in our society and for our food sources. We have speakers and classes from all over come and present various topics and information to the community. Everything from beekeeping 101 to how to safely remove honeybees, to save the bees versus killing them and why that is so important to help continue our food sources, how honeybees polinated plants including our fruits and vegetables, and how to make products from the hive from raw honey to beeswax and pollen and how they can be utilized. We also teach people how to help save the honeybees and how in the heat to put out water for them to stop and get a drink from.

We also bring the community at this events over 100 vendors from candles, honey, beeswax, soaps, and other products to lots of Food Trucks for their enjoyment. We have fun educational booths and childrens' activities including arts and crafts. We also provide live music throughout the day of the festival for the attendees enjoyment from local musicians and bands. All of us are volunteers that put this on and even our speakers and musicians volunteer their time and art to demonstrate or perform to the community. We also collaborate with other area beekeepers and with garden and plant clubs to provide additional resources and information to the public at this festival. All of this at the festival helps to teach the community how important and vital honeybees are to our society and brings awareness to saving them instead of exterminating them so they do not become extinct which would hender our human food sources.

There's lots of fun to be had at this free family fun Arizona Honeybee Festival and all while the community is learning.

We have partnered with the community college to be able to hold this festival at their college.

Located at 18401 N 32nd Street in Phoenix AZ. Takes place on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Any and all volunteers are welcome to help us put this event together.

We also host a fundriaser auction/raffle/drawing during this festival to help us continue to bring this educational free family fun event to the community for years to come. All Items in the fundraiser are donated by vendors and local businesses to help with this endeavor.

It is vital to have this festival each year and have sponsorships and partnerships from businesses and to have donations of profucts, memorabelia, baskets, and more to continue to help raise necessary funds to bring this event to the commnuity.
