Washington Elementary in Bloomington, Illinois is in its 119^th year of providing children in the local community a quality education. Since its opening in 1897, Washington School continues to educate its students from kindergarten to 5^th grade, as one of the last neighborhood schools, still standing.

Washington School will be hosting our annual School Carnival, themed “Around the World”  on April 8, 2016,  here at our school  in Bloomington, Illinois. This carnival, which is our school’s largest fund-raiser, is held solely for the purpose of enhancing education for our children, with a wee bit of fun thrown in there, too. ALL proceeds from the carnival will again go toward enriching the lives and education of our students. We are happy to include funding for McLean County’s FIRST school garden that was erected in the spring of 2011.  We also enrich the lives of our students with field trips and assemblies with these funds.  Our newly renovated library is constantly stocked with a variety of books, to meet the needs and interests of all of our students.
