The Allentown School District will welcome back 2,100 staff members with our celebratory back to school convocation event on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, ASD launched the monthly “You Are the Light” celebration, recognizing individuals in our schools in the categories of Classroom / Community Catalyst, Quiet Hero and Trendsetter. To help kick off the start of the new school year, at this event, we will recognize our student, teacher and support staff member with our first “You are the Light of the Year” award. We want to show our extreme gratitude and appreciation for these individuals who work so hard and do so much for our students and families.

We will host over 2,000 Allentown School District staff members, students and parents at this event. During the ASD Convocation will select one finalist out of 3 nominees for "Teacher of the Year" - 19 ASD students will also be recognized at the event - We would like to present our YATL winners with passes to Dorney.
