Description

Albany Therapeutic Riding Center's Day at the Golf Course is an annual fundraiser and has been ATRC's most successful event for the past 5 years. This is a fun, friendly golf outing, and all skill levels are welcome-no handicaps! Players can register as single player, or teams of two or four. Ticket include 18 holes with a shotgun start at 9am, a continental breakfast prior to play and a sit down lunch to follow. Raffles, prizes, and more! For non-players who would like to attend, we offer a separate lunch ticket at a reduced price.

ATRC was incorporated in 1985 as the first therapeutic riding center in the Capital District region of New York State. Since then, ATRC has continuously assisted participants to work towards and meet their respective physical, cognitive, social, and emotional goals, through adaptive horsemanship lessons at a level that is safe and most beneficial for each individual. As a PATH certified program, ATRC serves individuals with physical, mental and emotional disorders while also promoting the advancement of equine assisted services for life-long impact. As of the fall of 2023, ATRC became certified as the Capital Region training center for the Special Olympics equine teams and began hosting trainings.

Funds raised through this and other events are used to directly support daily operations including programming development, mounted and unmounted lessons, herd care and facility maintenance.
