Austin Street Center is the largest low-barrier shelter, serving 451 men and women every evening. Austin Street serves men ages 45 and older, because older men are at greater risk of injury and death on the streets and women ages 18 and older, providing safe shelter to women of all ages who face even higher rates of victimization and assault while experiencing homelessness.  

Last year, Austin Street served 2,399 unique people, documented housing outcomes with 551 clients, and we provided 415 job placements through our housing-focused, comprehensive case management services. In fact, our case management team provided more than 22,000 case management sessions to clients.  We are committed to accomplishing the mission to end homelessness in Dallas County, one person at a time.   

I’m reaching out today to request a donation. We have a staff of 85 men and women who continuously work to keep these individuals safe, fed and housed. Every year, we have a holiday party and are looking for raffle prizes to give to our staff during this get together.
