At some point in your life, you or someone you know will be affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Every year
Alzheimer’s disease kills more than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined and affects one out of
every three seniors. This disease robs a person of their memories, their personality, the use of their body
and eventually their life. Alzheimer’s is not only a burden on the individual but also on their family,
caregivers, our government, and our nation’s health care system.
Since 1989, AWARE has worked to ease the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on individuals and their families
and over $14 million has been raised and returned in grants to worthy organizations in the Dallas and the
greater North Texas area. These grants are given in the areas of Alzheimer’s research, services, education,
programs and resources to those living with or caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s. Even during one
of the most challenging times, 2021 dollars raised by AWARE continued to serve over 20,000 people in
the greater Dallas area.
Yet, as the COVID pandemic remains a threat, many of those we seek to serve struggle with the stresses
of isolation, confusion, and the need for care. Many of the agencies we support struggle with the needs
they face in providing their services to ever growing numbers of individuals and families. Please join us
in giving them hope and help.
On Friday, April 8, 2022 at Star Skyline Hangar at the Braniff Centre we will be joined by Honorary Chairs
Lee Roy & Biddie Jordan and friends of AWARE for the 31st annul AWARE fundraiser. Net proceeds from
AWARE Affair will be used to further our support of local organizations fighting on the front lines of
Alzheimer’s disease.
