Ballet and Books is a national non-profit striving to reduce the literacy gap through the hybrid storytelling of dance and literacy. Each semester in each of our 10 locations nationwide, we provide an 8-week program to underserved 3-9-year-olds. Through dance classes and 1-on-1 literacy mentorship, they are able to develop their literacy skills, gain access into the historically-exclusive dance world, and build their self-confidence by seeing themselves represented in spaces they wish to join in the future.

To continue serving children for semesters to come, we host an annual Giving Tuesday fundraiser. We are requesting gift card(s) to give away as a part of this fundraiser. This national, virtual fundraiser will support our programming expenses like books, ballet shoes, and journals as well as operational expenses that keep all of our chapters running on a national level. These include our insurance, legal fees, online platforms, accounting fees, background checks, training facilitators, administration, and more. With your help, we are expected to impact 300 more children with the benefits of our programs for the 2023-2024 school year.
