Band bingo is one of the biggest fund raiser to support the high school bands at Olathe East High School in Olathe, KS. We have several bands: Marching Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band and a Competitive Percussion Group. Most of these bands compete in local, state and national competitions and this fundraiser supports the cost to stay competitive. Like most band programs across the country, we are suffering budget cuts by the district to help keep instruments current and in working order, plus other equipment. Our high school is one of few that does not require a monetary commitment for students to be able to participate, as we have a portion of our population unable to pay. We rely on donations in hope to get community participation at our fundraisers so every child that wants to be a BAND kid has the opportunity.
