During the pandemic, the country watched as shelters emptied with pets finding forever families while the country sheltered in place. The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention and Cruelty to Animals) estimates that one in five U.S. families adopted a dog or cat during the pandemic. Now in 2022, families are returning to the office or facing financial hardships due to rising inflation costs. Dogs are being returned to rescues, many with behavioral issues stemming from a lack of socialization and local surrenders are at an all time high. 

Lucky 7 Dog Rescue is not just a dog rescue, we’re a community of dog-loving humans who also care about their community. In an effort to support families and dogs in need, we will be adding a new program Project Pandemic Puppy. This program will provide boarding, training and care for local dogs who come into care and provide adopters with training and resources to prevent the return of adopted dogs.

On February 18, Lucky 7 will host its Seventh Annual Bark and Wine Event. Events like these are critical to Lucky 7 Dog Rescue as we are a nonprofit dog rescue that is made possible solely through the efforts of volunteers and donations of businesses and individuals like you.
