Description

The Museum of Appalachia, a Smithsonian Affiliate, will host its tenth annual Barn Dance fundraiser on Friday, June 17. The Museum's signature fundraising event will feature a sumptuous Southern dinner, live music, horse-drawn wagon rides, Appalachian square dancing and live and silent auctions.

The Museum was designated as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization in 2003 to ensure the Museum’s long-term sustainability. With the help of the Barn Dance and other fundraising events, the Museum of Appalachia will continue to impart knowledge and appreciation of Appalachian heritage for generations to come.  With special events throughout the year and its presentation of an authentic Pioneer Appalachian farm and village, the Museum educates tens of thousands of visitors each year, exposing new segments of the population to the rich history of this region.
