Description

On behalf of South Beaverton Youth Cheer, thank you for your consideration to support our youth programs and help empower and uplift our local community. We are a fully volunteer-run, non-profit cheer program serving young athletes in grades K–8 throughout the Beaverton, OR area.

Our organization proudly supports up to six youth football teams during the fall season, and in winter, we operate a competitive cheer program that participates in events hosted by the Oregon Cheerleaders Coaches Association (OCCA). Throughout the year, our athletes also represent our community at local events, grand openings, parades, and clinics. More than just cheerleading, we focus on teaching self-confidence, leadership, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.

As a nonprofit, one of our biggest operational challenges is securing a safe, reliable indoor practice space. Unlike school-lead sports, we do not receive complimentary access to district gyms or fields. The cost of renting proper indoor facilities- including mats for tumbling- is prohibitively high. Yet, indoor space is vital for athlete safety and performance, especially given Oregon’s unpredictable weather, wildfire smoke, and early nightfall during the fall and winter months.

We are currently fundraising, with a goal of $5,000, to help offset these costs. Our fundraiser is a raffle that will offer a variety of themed baskets and we’re seeking items to support filling these baskets. We are hoping to secure all items for our baskets by the end of September.  Your support would directly contribute to creating a safe, accessible practice environment while keeping our program affordable—particularly for the 44% of our nearly 100 athletes who come from low-income households. Without this support, we risk passing increased costs to families who may be unable to continue participating.

South Beaverton Youth Cheer remains committed to breaking down barriers so that every child—regardless of financial means—can experience the joy and growth that comes from being part of a team. Your contribution would not only keep our program running but also help us continue providing scholarships and inclusive access to all.

We sincerely appreciate your consideration. Thank you for helping us create a positive, lasting impact on the lives of our youth.
