Domestic and sexual abuse is a devastating public health issue in our community. I was shocked to learn that Missouri has the third highest rate of abuse in the country with 4 out of 10 women experiencing intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and stalking. In St. Louis City alone the police respond to more than 2,200 incidents each year; imagine how many go unreported.

The Gala raises critical resources to help feed, house, and clothe hundreds of women and children each year. The Gala also funds counseling and psychiatric services and helps women secure jobs and permanent housing.
