Description

On Saturday, June 22, 2024, MyPath will be hosting a Community Event for participants of our Black Economic Equity Movement (BEEM) Guaranteed Income (GI) program.   BEEM is the first program in the nation to provide cash payments and financial mentoring to support young adults as they transition into adulthood. Our innovative program aims to provide participants with the critical financial and mentoring supports that will enable them to meet their basic needs and achieve improved health, mental health, and financial outcomes.  The 300 BEEM participants come from low-income communities across San Francisco and Oakland, are 18-24 years old, and are 100% BIPOC.  A significant number of participants also report having been food and/or housing insecure prior to joining the BEEM program.

The purpose of the event is to provide participants and stakeholders with updates on the progress of the BEEM program; enable participants to connect and network;  and share calls to action to raise awareness of the positive impact of GI and financial mentoring supports.
