Youth Mentoring of the Southern Tier is preparing for our Believe in Youth Bowl-A-Rama fundraiser on March 16, 2024.  Our goal for this year is to raise $15,000 with approximately 200 bowlers.  We are seeking donations of raffle items that these bowlers will receive for their hard work and dedication to the program.  All proceeds from this event will assist us in providing one-to-one mentoring for children in our site-based programs.

Youth Mentoring of the Southern Tier provides one to one site-based mentoring to youth in the Southern Tier of New York. Activities include educational/cultural activities, life skills, community service, field trips, arts and crafts, and career-based activities. Our program builds self-esteem and confidence in children through the development of a positive relationship with their mentor. This strong bond enables the mentee to grow to become the person they were meant to be- as evidenced by their significant improvements in grades, self-esteem, confidence, responsibility, accountability, and positive behavior towards peers, adults, and family members. The children that we work with are identified by parents, teachers, school counselors, or caregivers. Most of the children come from non-traditional families with poverty incomes who face daily struggles such as: hunger, substandard housing, unstable home environments, inadequate child care, poor nutrition, neglect or abuse, negative peer pressure, violence, and limited exposure to social/cultural enrichment programs. The money raised through the Believe in Youth Bowl-A-Rama stays 100% local and is used to match these children with the positive adults they need in their life, empowering them to become contributing members of our society. The success of our program is dependent on the funding raised, and we would be very grateful if you would be willing to give a donation to help make our event a great success.
