Description

The Believers House, Inc. is a 501(c)3 organization that maintains regard and concern for the wellbeing of people. It is our mission to serve as the center stone through which the community can gain a greater awareness of themselves, be restored, gain strength and receive aid in dealing with the problems they face. In doing so, we adopt a multifaceted notion of wellbeing and commit ourselves to support and initiate viable community development efforts through education, family and children's services, restoration, and empowerment.

A huge population of those we serve consists of college students attending school in the Atlanta area. Currently, we serve over 800 students each month by providing weekly meals, monthly care packages, scholarships, counseling services, community building experiences, and assistance with housing placement. Not only do we serve college students, but our college students help us serve others. On a monthly basis we have a group of college students that volunteer their time and efforts to help other students in need.

As a way to foster community, provide the student volunteers with an experience beyond the four walls of our building, and show our appreciation for their commitment to service we created the "Beyond the Walls" initiative. Through this we provide our student volunteers with opportunities to build community with one another and to just simply have fun. Additionally, majority of our student volunteers have financial obligations that do not allow them to enjoy extracurricular or off-campus activities. Therefore, we provide them with outings and activities, at no-cost, to bond and decompress from their weekly stressors. We understand that to have a healthy school-life balance there is a need for outlets outside of their academic settings. Many of our student volunteers have stated that these trips and activities provide therapeutic relief from the pressures of school and other stressors they encounter.

For our upcoming “Beyond the Walls” event we would love to partner with Six Flags Over Georgia to gift 10 student volunteers with free Six Flags tickets. We are requesting a donation of 10 adult Six Flags Over Georgia tickets.

We believe providing enriching experiences to our student volunteers contributes to their overall success. As a supporter of the local community, Six Flags Over Georgia would be the perfect partner for this event.
