On Saturday November 12th we will host our 15th Annual Black & White Gala with entertainment by Bee Gees Now so we may continue to provide programs and services to members of our communities at work, home and play.
St. John Ambulance York Region serves nine municipalities with almost 500 volunteers, relying on donations and fundraising to support our programs and services. Medical First Responders provide first aid services at community events and work with municipal disaster and emergency services when needed. Therapy Dogs visit schools, hosiptals, long term care and workplaces to offer the unconditional love of a dog. Youth programs teach first aid and leadership skills to young people while Child Car Seat Safety volunteers inspect car seats at monthly clinics. Our new Home Caregiver Support program offers education and resources to those supporting a loved one or friend with a life-limiting condition.
In 2021,
3558 people received First Aid and CPR training.
1,205 high school students took online First Aid training.
89 Medical First Responders assisted at 36 public events and supported 7 major Covid sites under Public Health direction.
164 Therapy Dogs and Handlers made 483 in-person and virtual visits to facilities and schools.
323 youth participated in the SJA Connect Leadership Program
