Description

Our 27th annual Books & Brunch event will be held on November 14, 2023. Guests will enjoy lunch and lively conversations with local authors Keir Graff, Frank Sennett and Liesl Shurtliff. Andrea Thome, author of the award winning Hesse Creek novel series will moderate.

Books & Brunch is one of the largest daytime events in the western suburbs of Chicago with 500+ attendees. Our unique array of Silent Auction and Raffle packages, along with boutique vendor shopping provides a fulfilling experience to all who attend.

Books & Brunch supports the philanthropies of Assistance League Chicagoland West. Our mission is to promote education, self-reliance and community in the Chicagoland area through literacy programs for our youngest readers, school appropriate clothing for ELHI to keep students in the classroom, scholarships to College of DuPage and complete kitchen essentials packages for those transitioning from homelessness to independent living. All items are brand new and all recipients are vetted through our partner schools and agencies.

Since 1996, Assistance League Chicagoland West has given almost $2.5M back to the community. Our 100+ member volunteers identify the need, then structure and execute the programs.

As our signature fundraising event, we hope to raise $300,000 at Books & Brunch this year. We understand that there are many worthy charities vying for business donors; we are grateful for any donations a business is willing to give - whether it be for our Silent Auction/Raffle or monetary.
