Reviving a Big Bear Favorite!

“Bowling for the Zoo”

The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo is reviving the “Bowling for the Zoo” fundraiser to take place on

 Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Bowling Barn in Big Bear Lake Village. 

The Big Bear Alpine Zoo is a rehabilitation and rescue facility offering injured, orphaned, and imprinted wild animals a haven; temporarily while they heal or permanently if they are unable to survive on their own.

The Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo (FOBBAZ) was created in 1989, as a 501(C3), nonprofit, fundraising organization to support the zoo. The Friends assist the zoo and their volunteer activities cover a wide range of duties to enhance the guest experience while providing funds for medical, dental, and enrichment projects to better the lives of the animals in residence at the zoo.

FOBBAZ will utilize all proceeds from this fundraiser to further our mission of education and support for the BIG BEAR ALPINE ZOO.

Please consider donating gift certificates, gift cards, or making a cash contribution.   As a ‘thank you’ - you or your business will receive special recognition in our beautiful 2024 ‘Bowling for the Zoo’ Program and receive our appreciation in the Big Bear Grizzly Newspaper.   

·     Join a Bowling Team!  The best way to have fun and celebrate the zoo is to create a bowling team comprised of 5 members each required to obtain $100 per member to help reach our goal of $8,000!  Only 16 teams are available so hurry and sign up, they sell out quickly!

·     Cash Donations - Your cash contribution in any amount would be greatly appreciated and is tax-deductible as we are a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization.  Please make checks payable to: Friends of the Big Bear Alpine Zoo. 

·     Donate Items or Services - Donating Weekend Getaways, gift certificates, gift cards, or services for our Raffle and Silent Auction will help to increase our proceeds for the animals.

This is our first fundraiser since Covid-19, and was one of our most popular in the past!  Help to make it a success!  More events to follow this year, Artwalk and Wine tasting at the Zoo and Holiday Gala in November!
