Description
Bowling For Rhinos (BFR) is an annual fundraiser hosted by over 60 chapters of the national nonprofit the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK). Our chapter, the Lincoln Park Chapter, is based in Chicago and we are hosting our Bowling For Rhinos event on August 20, 2015.

This is the 25th anniversary of BFR, and over $5.4 million has been raised since 1990. 100% of the money from donations, raffles, and auctions at these events goes directly to rhino conservation programs in Africa and Asia to protect critically endangered rhinos and all the other species of plants and animals that share their habitats. Rhino poaching has increased over 9300% since 2007, and they are on the verge of extinction within the next several years. Rhinos are killed for their horns, which many believe have medicinal value, even though there is no scientific evidence to support that belief. For more information on the Bowling For Rhinos program visit www.aazk.org.

The American Association of Zoo Keepers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conservation and professional development of people in the animal care field. Please visit Lincoln Park AAZK's website at https://lincolnparkaazk.wix.com/lpaazk.
