Building a Better Boyertown (BaBB) is thrilled to announce its new annual event, Boyertown Days, which will take place in downtown Boyertown on the third Saturday of May. This event will celebrate everything that makes Boyertown unique – from bears to casket races! This year’s event will also commemorate BaBB’s 20th anniversary. In addition to an exciting casket race, visitors will also find craft and food vendors lining E. Philadelphia Avenue. Local businesses and nonprofits will also be offering a variety of games, crafts, and activities for children and their families to enjoy.

The capstone activity will be Boyertown’s very own casket race. Boyertown Burial Casket Company opened in 1893 and was the town’s largest employer. It became the second largest casket maker in the world in the 1960s and 70s, employing over 1,000 people and producing over 60,000 caskets per year. The company closed in 1988.
