Description

The evening of Saturday, October 5th, the Boys and Girls Club of Tipton County will be hosting our 10th annual Gala at the CW Mount Center, which is our largest event of the year to help support youth programming. We’re fortunate enough to have our Gala and Club be in the same building, which provides a unique opportunity to our attendees.  The special evening allows our guests to see how they can impact members in the coming year, as they will enter the building through the Club and be provided a guided tour. It’s a time for our community to receive a firsthand look at what the club has to offer from members in Kindergarten to 12th grade. After a tour of the Club, members will be escorted to the other end of the building to partake in the evening activities of the Gala, and help make what we do possible.

Our primary focus for this event is to help fund and focus on our programming through live and silent auctions. Doing so, enables all young people, especially those that need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The proceeds of these auctions and this event will assist the Boys and Girls Club of Tipton County with the programming needs throughout the year. This will provide us the ability to carry on with the programming that the youth of the Club have grown to enjoy as well as continue to expand the services we provide.

An idea of the costs the Club encounters over the year:

  • $200 will support our teen programming for two months
  • $250 will allow fifty Club members to attend a field trip
  • $500 will cover program supplies for 4 months of after school programming
  • $1000 will cover the cost of summer camp for a family

The programming is helping our youth in the Club from not only an educational level, but also a physical, social and personal level. Children are able to come to the Club as early as Kindergarten and we offer programming to as old as our teens in the community.

Over 6 years ago, my children started attending the Club in the summer and enjoyed it so much, they wanted to go daily. Activities ranged from help with arts & crafts, gym time, educational programming or community service projects. It was their love for going to the club and what the staff was able to provide, which made me interested in becoming a board member. After several summers, my oldest enjoyed it so much so that she wanted to be a CIT (Counselor In Training) to help the younger members enjoy their summer.  As our girls have continued to be enriched by these activities, I have become more active in what I can do as a board member to strengthen the programming that they and their friends receive at the Club.
