Breakfast with Santa
Gala/Party for BOWS & BALLCAPSNov 28, 2020 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA is a holiday breakfast and toy drive for 400 people benefiting BOWS & BALLCAPS and Vanderbilt’s Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital. BOWS & BALLCAPS is a charitable organization started in 2013 by then 10-year-old Hannah Grubbs to offer love and support to kids fighting cancer, especially those who have lost their hair from their treatments. Hannah has alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease that causes baldness, and she has been bald since she was one-year-old. BOWS & BALLCAPS works to collect new bows, ballcaps, and other accessories through donations from companies and individuals and distribute them to kids with cancer either through children’s hospitals or directly to the children. In the 7+ years since its founding, BOWS & BALLCAPS has distributed more than 20,000 bows and ballcaps to kids without hair through its 10 partner hospitals (Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, St. Jude’s, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Ann & Robert E. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City and Duke Children’s Hospital in Durham, North Carolina) and through a care package program.
