Description

The recent and tragic death of one of our most active families, the Zaccardi’s of Abington, has highlighted the necessity and the sheer magnitude of the network that Keeping Pace has created. Through her connections within the community, the KPMM co-founder was one of the first individuals to be told the devastating news. She immediately sprang into action, activating a phone tree, and setting up the gathering room for those who needed sanctuary. Within hours, almost twenty mothers from throughout the state had flocked to the store to process through the shock and grief. By week’s end, that number was over a hundred. Throughout it all, KPMM provided free food, drinks, and counseling.

The goal of the upcoming year is to continue to expand the reach of KPMM’s services. The role of social connections in mental health and wellbeing, while undervalued by society, is at the forefront of our mission. Which is why, in addition to the established monthly support meetings and classes, Keeping Pace will continue to grow its family-centered programming; to organize social events and outings, and to provide financial assistance as needed so that no family is excluded.
