Donation Request - Bronx High School of Science (NYC public hs)

March 2021

Dear Friend of the Bronx Science Community,

The planning of The Bronx High School of Science Parents’ Association 2021 Annual Auction is underway.  This year, our Bronx Science Go for the Green and Gold Gala will be held as a live, virtual celebration on Saturday, May 15, 2021, and will be preceded by a separate, online auction.  We ask for your continued generous support of our school’s largest and most important fundraiser.  Please donate today!  Any form of contribution, merchandise, or service appropriate for auctioning is greatly appreciated.

The Bronx High School of Science ranks among the top high schools in the country with a total of eight Nobel Laureates and six Pulitzer Prize winners, more than any other high school in the nation!  Additionally, Bronx Science is among the top five schools in the country to produce the most Regeneron Science Talent Search (previously known as Intel and Westinghouse before that) semifinalists and finalists.  Your support is essential to keeping our school at the pinnacle of secondary education.  Your generosity helps offset devastating budget cuts to NYC public schools and enables us to provide a comprehensive, high-quality education for our students – almost 50% of whom are classified as economically disadvantaged.

In this extraordinary year, our goal is to raise at least $100,000 to be used to facilitate a safe, supportive learning environment for our students and teachers, including funding for technology in our classrooms and support for remote learning.  As we move towards a new normal, funds will be used to upgrade our classrooms, cafeteria, and shared spaces, improve in-school technology, provide materials for the school labs, cover expenses for extra-curricular activities, and uniforms for team sports.

We look forward to you joining other organizations, local merchants, and individuals in our school’s fundraising effort.  All donors are highlighted on our online auction site (which is viewed nationwide) and on the Bronx Science Parent Association website (which is viewed by over 3,000 families in the five boroughs).  Donors may also appear on the Bronx Science PTA social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WeChat).  It is a great way to advertise your business while supporting Bronx Science.  We encourage our families and community to patronize donor companies and establishments.

Donating is quick and easy!  CLICK HERE for our online donation form or print out the attached 2021 Donation Form and email it back to us.  Please send your donations by April 1st, if possible.  All contributions are tax deductible as allowable by law.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at auctiondonations@bxsciencepa.org.
