Description

On Tuesday, May 23rd, we are holding our annual fundraising gala which will feature BMS student performers and special guests Nels Cline from Wilco, DJ Logic, Maurice Brown, Cassandra Jenkins, and Don McKenzie and are asking for your kind support in helping us achieve our fundraising goal of $80,000. At BMS, we seek to help those whose artistic voices are least often heard. Every pledge of support BMS receives directly impacts our students allowing for the creation of additional financial support through the creation of scholarships, and robust financial aid assistance, expanding the number of programs we offer, and allowing for facility upgrades including improved ADA accommodations. Additionally, funds received are directly tied to:

Organizational initiatives including support for artists and creating opportunities for them to showcase their talents. By donating to BMS, you are helping to ensure that the arts remain a vibrant and integral part of the unique culture that exists throughout the five boroughs of New York City and preserve cultural traditions and heritage, ensuring that they are passed down from generation to generation.

Drawing focus on community enrichment and engagement bringing people together, and fostering a sense of community and shared experience, helping to create opportunities for people to come together and enjoy the arts.

BMS educational and outreach programs to children and adults help promote arts education, develop new audiences, encourage creativity and self-expression and through research has demonstrated that exposure leads to increased achievement and proficiency in math, higher verbal and reading skills, and greater capacity for higher-order thinking skills.

We kindly request the donation of an experience package, gift card, or monetary donation that can be used as a part of our silent auction or to directly support our organization's efforts to keep arts accessible within all communities. We are open to any and all opportunities and would love to discuss this request further at your earliest convenience. We sincerely appreciate your consideration and support and very much look forward to corresponding with you soon!
