Buckman Elementary has heart... and art! However, the arts and literacy programs at Portland’s only public arts-focused elementary school would not be possible without the amazing teachers and staff behind them.

As a community who cares about our students, we want Buckman to keep its teachers and staff: and the annual Buckman Elementary Benefit Auction is how we do that.

Buckman doesn’t receive any additional funding from the district to support our unique arts curriculum. Rather, it’s thanks to the hard work and the incredible generosity of families, businesses, teachers, and community members who volunteer and donate to the Buckman Foundation that we’ve been able preserve Buckman’s arts team, even through bad budget years (and we are coming up on one of those!).

We’re writing to ask you to join with other businesses in supporting Buckman students by enriching the arts at Buckman by sponsoring our annual benefit auction, to be held on May 18, 2024 at Buckman School.

Last year we raised $50,000 from the auction and other fundraising efforts which helped to maintain school staffing levels on the arts team, in the library, and for literacy support at Buckman.
