I am writing to you on behalf of my church, St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Parkville (tax id# 52-6012034).  We are currently organizing our Third Annual Bull and Shrimp Feast for Friday, February 21, 2020.  We plan to have a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and a plant/cake wheel.

The reason for our fundraiser this year is to raise money to start a Building Fund to help cover future projects to repair our aging building.  The first project is to repair the stained glass windows of the church.  Some of the windows are between 50-125 years old, and were not effectively protected from the harsh environment that we are subject to here in Maryland.  Some other projects include an upgrade to our heating system, repairs to our church bell and some roofing repairs.

The Parkville community relies on our building for community meeting space.

Some of these groups include Alcoholics Anonymous, ALANON, JHU Parkinson’s Support Groups, and more.  Without a conveniently located building and parking, these groups might not be able to meet and help those in our immediate and surrounding communities.  We hope to continue to support these groups for many years to come.
