Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company hosts an annual carnival every year to raise funds for operating costs and to purchase vital firefighting and life-saving equipment. The carnival has rides, food, games, vendors, crafters, live music, and educational shows. Currently the fire company is looking to replace their 1985 (37-year old) heavy rescue truck. Quotes from new manufacturers of a heavy rescue have quoted $1.1 to $1.2 million dollars for a new heavy rescue. Without fundraisers like this our fire company cannot survive. The ladies auxiliary hosts the silent auction for the fire company to bring in additional funds to support the fire company. These are mostly the wives of firefighters. With our organization being 100% volunteer that means we have to buy our own equipment, maintain our own equipment and maintain and pay all utility bills for the building and property. The silent auction will have a poster with every donors name on it as well as the prize stating who it was donated by. The website and Facebook pages also have a thank-you put out on them to thank all the sponsors of the event.
