Button Ball
Gala/Party for Williamson County Child Advocacy Center Task Force/ Davis House CACSep 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Opening our doors in 2000, Davis House Child Advocacy Cent works to protect children and combat child abuse by coordinating services to victims and their families in crisis and providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention - free of charge to the victims.
Last year DHCAC provided over 3,935 services to 557 new children and 373 new adult non-offending family members in the 21st Judicial district, which includes Williamson, Hickman, Lewis and Perry Counties. Funds raised support investigative services provided to children and their families facing sexual and significant physical abuse and healing programs delivered to children and non-offending family members, including Forensic Interviews, Child and Family Advocacy, Trauma-Focused Counseling, Case Management , and community-based prevention & awareness education.
Our annual Button Ball derives its name from the symbol in our logo. After a child is interviewed at Davis House, they are invited to select a button out of a box. The button represents their unique story of abuse. However, the child is also introduced immediately to a collection of buttons from other children who have come to Davis House previously, reminding them that they are not alone. Then the child adds their button to the collection of others as an act of courage and solidarity in moving forward along their restorative journey. Our two-button logo represents our agency's privilege in standing with the child as they navigate the dual pathway of healing and justice provided by services through Davis House.
