There are few sunny days for more than 430,000 children nationwide as long as they are not with their families. In California, we have 60,000 children in foster care with roughly about 25,000 in Los Angeles. These children lay their heads at night and dream for better days. Today, we have the opportunity to make children and youth’s dreams come alive at our California Dreamin’: 2024 Five Acres Annual Gala on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Inspired by the beautiful landscapes in our state, stunning coastlines, and opportunity in thriving industries, California Dreamin’ for better futures is what we desire for our children. Their dreams, wishes, and hopes for living in the land of opportunity is not lost on us. While we continue to keep them safe and warm, we also are committed to permanency with support from families who open their hearts and homes.

For more than 135 years, Five Acres has been bringing safe and warm homes to children who have experienced abuse, neglect or been abandoned. They are committed to ensuring that every child’s wish to have a loving, permanent family of their own be fulfilled.
