Lakes Bowl is proud to announce our annual “Jerry Swieton Memorial Golf Outing,” on Saturday August 3^rd, at Renwood Golf Course. 100% of the profits raised during the one day event will be used to help fund a summer camp for children who have suffered significant burn injuries.  The Burn Camp, held at Camp Duncan in Ingleside IL, provides a setting for burn survivors to share their common experiences, and interact with other survivors in a safe environment where they do not feel self-conscious about their scars. The benefits to the campers are physical, psychological, and emotional.

 Camp I am Me is a special and unforgettable one-week camp experience for children and teenagers who have experienced injuries from burns. Through the generosity of donors, supporters, and volunteers, the IFSA offers this camping opportunity at no-cost to campers; including lodging, meals, activities, and transportation to and from camp (YMCA Camp Duncan - Ingleside, IL).

No other IFSA program has received greater attention from the fire service, medical community, general public and the media than Camp “I Am Me”. Camp provides the setting for child burn survivors to share their common experiences while being able to play and not feel self-conscious about their scars. The benefits to the campers -- physical, psychological, and emotional -- have been enough to inspire a long list of eager volunteers and contributors.

We are always in need of extra help, especially in these tough economic times.  We need your support!  We are looking for items to be donated for our silent auction.  Any donation, from cash donations to gift certificates for services, to actual product, is much appreciated. In return, we will advertise your business during our event, which is attended by over 300 people every year.

Your donation will help us acheive our goal of raising over $13,000 during the one day event.  With this money we can cover the cost of 8 juvenile burn survivors.  This will lesson a financial burden for the families who have already experienced a significant amount of tragedy and trauma.
