Description

Camp TLC (Together Living a Challenge) launched in 2011 by Caroline Baumis, who wanted to bring the magic of summer camp and the performing arts to youth that have survived a trauma regardless of the situation in which they are living. That year, Camp “toured” the Northeast for four weeks bringing camp to selected organizations in New York, Massachusetts, and Maryland. By the time we celebrate our Tenth Anniversary, Camp TLC will have served the needs of 3,000 children and family members in five states hosting 40 weeks of Camp, including a very special Camp for the families of Hurricane Sandy. Our largest site is in the heart of East LA, a weeklong overnight camp for youth in foster and youth in military families where there has been domestic or sexual violence. Camp SoCal HeArts offers this program to 65 youth each summer and follows up with a monthly music/art therapeutic program that keeps the youth connected throughout the year. Our newest program will launch in Los Angeles in 2020. Camp Reddy, a family bereavement Camp.

On October 10th, 2020, we will celebrate with 125 of our supporters the success of our 10th Anniversary at the famous East West Studios in Hollywood, CA. EastWest Studios is the world’s premier recording facility. Located in the heart of Hollywood, the studios have given rise to some of the most celebrated music of the last fifty years, from Frank Sinatra to The Rolling Stones, and has produced more Grammy-winning albums than any other studio in the world.
