Description

The mission of Candor Health Education is to positively impact the physical, social and emotional health of young people through innovative education programs in partnership with parents, schools and communities.

Candor Health Education is a nonprofit organization that has been educating students, their trusted adults, and communities on the topics of sex education, substance abuse prevention since 1974. Previously known as the Robert Crown Center for Health Education, we rebranded as Candor a few years ago because our professional health educators provide honest, direct information that kids can use. Our curriculum is delivered in schools by our team of health educators either in-person or virtually. Schools appreciate that they can use Candor to provide accurate, science- based information that 4th - 8th graders can readily understand and apply.

We serve 600 schools across northern Illinois reaching over 85,000 students per year. We have educated over 6 million youth to date and also help parents learn how to talk to their kids about sex and drugs and how to stay safe. Our goal is to raise funds from the community so we can reach more schools and students with a sliding fee structure. Demand for discounted programs is very high and we need corporate and individual support to ensure that young people know how to take care of their bodies so they can stay healthy as they mature.
