Description

Good Evening

My name is Chelsea Polanco and I work with Yellow Ribbon Fund a non-profit that serves the great state of Texas even though we are nationwide and serve many other great states and cities.

We serve caregivers of disabled veterans, as the program coordinator of the San Antonio chapter I have a huge why of working and being so passionate about the non-profit I work for. These veterans and their caregivers once lived a normal life and one day changed that completely. While the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan are over the daily battles continues and the care these caregivers provide is constant and does not stop because a war is over. I as a fellow caregiver of a Disabled Marine Veteran my whole world came crashing down one day, my kids and my family was torn. When I say a wounded veteran I can tell you that no all injuries are visible and my husband is one of those, he suffers internally. I will never forget that my husband almost became apart of the 22 veterans who commit suicide a day and from that moment on our lives had changed. He had been blown up in Afghanistan and since that day in 2010 he suffered terribly not only physical pains but mental pains. The daily routine now that I do to care for my husband is one that I try and always remember when serving these strong, fierce and beautiful caregivers. I want them each month to connect with other caregivers who are fighting the same battles and to find a bond and to rely on each other and for their wounded veterans to also have the support when we all come together as a family.

A donation from the Cowboys for $10,000 dollars would benefit us in a way that would allow us to provide these free monthly events for our disabled veterans and their caregivers not only in the Great State of Texas but nationwide. We also would love the opportunity to take a tour of the amazing Dallas Stadium and to be able to say thank you back to the Dallas Cowboys with interviews from our caregivers and their disabled veterans saying thank you to the Dallas Cowboys. Thank you so much for your time and of course from a born and raised Texas Gal "GO COWBOYS!"

I look forward to hearing back.

Respectfully,

Chelsea Polanco
