Hello,

I am writing on behalf of the Emerson Oakland Parent Teacher Association to request a donation for our auction and Caribbean bash happening on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024. This event will build community and raise money for the Emerson Enrichment Fund--and we need your help! 

Emerson Elementary’s families reflect the rich diversity of Oakland. We are a Title I school in North Oakland where nearly 73% of our scholars come from low-income households, 25% have disabilities, and 15% speak a language other than English at home. Our teachers and staff welcome every child and family who walk onto our campus, regardless of race, language, or learning ability, and they work hard to provide our kids a great education and an enriching school experience, but our budget is limited. The PTA raises money for the Emerson Enrichment Fund to support performing and visual art, gardening, reading intervention, teacher grants, mental health and wellness, and other important programs not funded by the district or Title I. These experiences and programs add so much to our students' learning at Emerson and cannot be funded without the support of our community! 

We hope you will support our event. All contributing organizations who donate by February 17th will be named on our event website. Donations can be mailed to the address below, Attn.
