Description

Please accept this request for support of our upcoming Carousel of Fools fundraiser, on Thursday, November 30th, 2023, taking place on the Santa Monica Pier.

Los Angeles-based, Rogue Artists Ensemble, creates original works of theater incorporating mask, puppetry and modern technology. We tell stories from our community and create work that is made by and for Los Angelinos. Our work reflects the diversity of our community with at least 50% of our artists identifying as BIPOC and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ and disabled artists. To date, our boundary-pushing immersive and site-specific work has been seen by over 200,000 people. www.rogueartists.org

Carousel of Fools will take place on the Santa Monica Pier in the historic Looff Hippodrome for a night of wonderment, including riding the 100-year-old carousel, midway games, sideshow performances and more, alive and inside! Building on Rogue’s commitment to access, this event is a fully ADA-accessible experience, including the carousel.

SUPPORT THE WORLD-PREMIERE

All money raised will support paying artists for the premiere of Schlitzie: Alive and Inside the Decaying Sideshow, an immersive experience, coming March 2024. Schlitzie is one of the most famous sideshow performers and his story is inextricably tied to Los Angeles, where he spent his last years performing his act in McArthur Park. Schlitzie will include a cast composed primarily of artists with disabilities and be a fully accessible experience, a stark contrast to many productions.
