Description

We’re blessed and excited that this year marks our 9th Annual Carrie’s Dream Dance Showcase Fundraiser! Every year our event gets bigger and better, and more dancers receive scholarship dollars. But, we can’t do it alone. We need the help of trusted sponsors, like you, to make this event possible.

For many dancers their dance studio or team is their home away from home; dance is the thing they are most proud of. Dancing requires teamwork, leadership, dedication, physical and mental training, as well as passion and perseverance- all immensely valuable skills that help keep our youth on the path to success in life. The value of these things cannot be measured in dollars and cents, but it takes just that to give these students those opportunities. Due to the support of generous members of the community, Carrie's Dream raised $50,000.00 for local youth dance scholarships last year. We hope to raise even more this year, as the need is greater than the funds we raised. During the last couple years, having an outlet for these kids to connect with each other as well as express themselves has been a literal life saver for this community. With many people having interruptions in their employment over the past couple years, the need for scholarships has never been greater.

The Carrie's Dream Annual Dance Showcases provide the Santa Cruz County dance community with a unique opportunity for collaboration on an artistically excellent, professional-level celebration of dance. Carrie's Dream was founded in 2014 in memory of Carrie Dianda McCoid, whose dream it was that all students in our community who wanted to dance would have that opportunity, regardless of their financial circumstances.Since then, our annual showcases have brought together hundreds of local dancers from a variety of dance studios and teams to perform a diverse array of dance styles. The showcases support the creative vision and hard work of local dance teachers, choreographers and students, and allow them to share their artistry and accomplishments with the community at large. The 2020 Carrie's Dream Dance Showcases will feature the talents of some 200 dancers, and their teachers and choreographers, from numerous dance studios and teams across the county.

We are currently seeking donations for the upcoming April 22th, 2023 in person dance showcase, and we are hoping you are willing to join with us in supporting Carrie’s Dream. The proceeds from this fundraiser go directly to funding youth dance scholarships. We are accepting auction items in the form of goods or gift certificates. We also gratefully accept monetary donations in any amount.
