CASA Superhero Gala
Gala/Party for CASA of Madison and Clark CountiesAug 07, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Madison and Clark Counties is a local non-profit which trains
community volunteers to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children. As of March 2021, CASA of
Madison County has 72 trained and active volunteers who are serving 114 abused and neglected children. The
majority of these children are in foster care and will spend an average of 22 months in foster care. CASA
volunteers are often the only constant individual in these children’s life. CASA volunteers are required to meet
with their child at least monthly and advocate for the child’s best interests. Children who have a CASA volunteer,
on average, achieve permanency 6 months sooner than a child without a CASA volunteer. Also, children who
have a CASA are substantially less likely to re-enter the system through foster care, juvenile detention or
incarceration. We work towards ending the cycle of abuse and neglect. In 2020, there were 443 abused and
neglected children in Madison County. In Clark County, in 2020, there were 270 children who needed an
advocate.
CASA of Madison and Clark Counties is hosting the Second Annual Superhero Gala on August 7, 2021 at the EKU
Center for the Arts Stage from 7pm to 11pm. This formal event will include speakers, heavy hors d’oeurves, a
photo booth, dancing and a silent auction. All proceeds will go directly back to ensuring abused and neglected
children in Madison and Clark Counties have a safe and permanent home.
