Description

Purpose and Beneficiary of the event: The purpose of this event is to bring together Austin’s philanthropic and business leaders to raise the crucial funds needed to provide our community’s children with CASA volunteers. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Travis County believes every child who's been abused or neglected deserves to have a dedicated advocate speaking up for their best interest in court, at school, and in our community. Last year, CASA of Travis County supported 600 volunteers in their advocacy of over 1,100 children.

About the Event: The 31st annual CASAblanca Gala will be held on February 3, 2024, at the JW Marriott Austin. At CASAblanca, Austin’s philanthropic and business leaders will come together to raise the crucial funds needed to provide our community’s children with CASA volunteers. This event features a dinner, both silent and live auctions, a casino afterparty, and dancing. We expect 900-1000 attendees.

About the Organization: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Travis County believes every child who has experienced abuse or neglect deserves to have a dedicated advocate speaking up for their best interest in court, at school, and in our community. To accomplish this, CASA educates and empowers diverse community volunteers who ensure each child's needs remain a priority in an overburdened child welfare system. When the state steps in to protect a child's safety, a judge appoints a trained volunteer advocate to make independent and informed recommendations and help the judge decide what's best for the child.

Organization Mission: CASA of Travis County exists to promote and protect the best interest of children who have been abused or neglected, by training volunteers to advocate for them in courts, in schools, and in our community to help them find safe, permanent, and loving homes.
