The Association of Surf Angling Clubs (ASAC) will be partnering with the Barnegat Township Police Department, Barnegat Township Recreation Department, and the American Angler Fishing Club to hold Casting with a Cop-Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs kids only fishing and crabbing tournement for our local youths, here in Barnegat NJ. 

The primary goal is to get the kids outdoors, promote the sport of fishing, and have a positive interaction with the local police department. The kids will also be educated on the dangers of drugs and encouraged to avoid drug paraphernalia and packaging they may encounter at home, school, or in the commuity. All in hopes of preventing accidental exposures. 

Our hope is that kids develop a positive relationship with local law enforcement and a love for fishing and the outdoors. Keeping kids busy and active improves overall health and helps steer them in a more positive direction. A direction that hopefully keeps them safe and avoids the perils of illegal drugs. 

In order to make this event a success, and ensure the continuation of the event for years to come, we are asking for your help. ASAC would greatly appreciate any donated item(s) tht could be used as prizes and/or free raffle type of give away for the kids and thier parents who attend the event. We are also seeking cash donations, to help offset the event expenses and allow for the purchasing of prizes. We anticipate aproximately 125 youth/adults to be in attendance.
