Description

Join us at the Evening of Light as we share our time with Chanel and in support of the resilience of survivors. By attending you help survivors in your community get the support they need. It is an annual celebration of the resiliency of survivors that raises awareness and funds to go back into our 100% free and confidetial services. We  have secured artist and author, Chanel Miller, as our Keynote speaker. Chanel was once known as ‘Emily Doe’ before she became known publicly when she read her compelling and powerful victim impact statement ahead of Brock Turner’s sentencing in 2016. Her victim impact statement went viral, including a reading on the floor of Congress; it inspired changes in California law and the recall of the judge in the case. She went on to write a memoir, Know My Name and in the spring her new children’s book will be released.
