Description

For over 30 years Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences (MARR) has hosted the annual Celebration of Recovery Banquet to sustain and grow our essential programs which provide therapy, housing, and support to men, women, and mothers seeking treatment for addiction and substance use disorder.

As one of the oldest nonprofit residential treatment facilities in Georgia, MARR has provided hope and help to over 20,000 people since our inception in 1975. The people we serve are among the most vulnerable in our community, and thanks to generous donors like you, in 2022 MARR served nearly 600 individuals and family members in need. Each year, proceeds from the Celebration of Recovery Banquet contribute to our ability to provide the following:

Scholarship Fund - MARR provides need-based financial aid scholarships to men and women seeking treatment, ultimately making treatment attainable for individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford rehabilitation.

Direct Aid - MARR supplies individuals beginning their journey to recovery with access to basic necessities such as pharmaceutical prescriptions, health care, food, household goods, and clothing.

Additionally, our Right Side Up Program (RSU), which provides residential substance abuse treatment to low-income mothers, housed over 200 women and children last year, including nine drug-free babies that were born to mothers enrolled at RSU. We also helped 250 family members of individuals in recovery, by providing them with their own independent source of support and therapy at our Family Recovery Center.

MARR’s annual Celebration of Recovery Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Cobb Galleria, in Atlanta, Georgia. This event is attended by approximately 600 corporate professionals, alumni, volunteers, and community leaders. For this occasion, we respectfully request an in-kind donation of gift cards for our silent auction.

Please find our tax-exempt documents, a formal request on letterhead, and information about our organization attached. We also request that you complete the attached In-Kind Donation Form and include it with your mailed donation. As a thank you, we will acknowledge your gift(s) in both our banquet event program and on all banquet marketing collateral. For more information, or to schedule a donation pickup, please contact the Fund Development Department via email at funddev@marrinc.org or phone at 678.805.5194.

We appreciate your consideration and hope you will help us advance our mission of bringing lasting recovery to individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction and substance use through cost-effective, evidence-based treatment.

Sincerest Thanks,
