Description

The Perot Museum is an institution committed to providing innovative and highly accessible learning experiences that broaden understanding of the world and improve community achievement. With a vision to be an extraordinary resource and catalyst to learning, the museum serves individuals of all ages and backgrounds, aiming to make science and discovery accessible to everyone.

The Richardson Independent School District (RISD) Council of PTAs shares a similar commitment to inclusivity and diversity. As the governing body over 55 local unit PTAs , RISD Council of PTAs Inclusion programming is designed to create a more inclusive, welcoming, and accessible learning environment for RISD’s 37,000 Students, 19,000 PTA Members & 5,700 Educators.. The council's mission revolves around ensuring every student, regardless of background or abilities, has equal access to quality education and programs designed to enhance their educational experience.

Through donations from a partnership with The Perot Museum, the RISD Council of PTAs aims to foster an inclusive educational environment where every student feels valued, empowered, and a sense of belonging. This aligns with both organizations' dedication to “discovery accessible to everyone.”

Your donation will serve two needs.

·         Financial Partnership: March 20, 2024, “Celebration of Women in STEM” symposium will be a panel discussion for parents, educators and students interested in STEM. Held at our Berkner High School STEM Center, your financial donation will address inclusions key area of focus by enhancing access to event ensuring we can offer it this event for free to our entire community.

·         Volunteer Partnership: May, 2024, “Celebration of Girls in STEM”- We will hold interactive STEM demonstrations in 4 of our TITLE I schools to for about 100 girls in each school. Your volunteer “Do Crew” donation will seek to address our key areas of focus of access to resources, expanded opportunities, inclusive programming, and community building.

Your donation will seek to address various RISD council of PTAs Inclusion key areas of focus, including enhanced events, access to resources, expanded opportunities, inclusive programming, and community building. By providing financial support, The Perot Museum enables underfunded PTAs to organize more engaging and enriching experiences, particularly in STEM-focused areas. Additionally, the donation facilitates access to educational resources and materials, as well as the exploration of new event ideas and initiatives, ensuring that every student can fully participate and benefit from these activities.

Furthermore, the partnership fosters community connections among parents, teachers, students, and local businesses, promoting a sense of unity and belonging within the school community. In return, The Perot Museum receives meaningful exposure and recognition within the community while making a tangible impact on the lives of students and families in the Richardson Independent School District.

Together, The Perot Museum and the RISD Council of PTAs aim to create inclusive access to educational opportunities, ultimately contributing to the betterment of the community and the realization of every child's potential.
