On November 4, 2023, the United Way of South Sarasota County is teaming up with the Atlanta Braves to introduce the First Annual Celebrity Softball Game and Concert to benefit local heroes such as veterans and any military service members, first responders, and their families through a partnership between two nonprofit organizations: My Warrier's Place and United Way of South Sarasota County. Game and concert will take place at the Spring Training home of the Atlanta Braves – CoolToday Park in Venice, Florida.

The event will celebrate America’s heroes as we approach Veterans Day 2023 with a fun-filled celebrity softball game. The game includes two teams with players from MLB, NFL, NHL; television, movie and radio personalities; music stars and other celebrities. In addition to the celebrities, each team will include local active-duty military personnel, military veterans and first responders. Local dignitaries will join in the fun as coaches. At the conclusion of the game, Country Music star Rodney Atkins will hold a concert on the field.

There will be an exclusive VIP Reception at the Palm Island Resort in Cape Haze, Florida scheduled the night prior of the event (November 3, 2023) during which we will host a silent auction. The VIP reception is an invitation only experience for 120+ influencers including those playing the next day and community leaders who will be transported by ferry to the Palm Island Resort. Donations for the VIP Reception silent auction will be included in signage acknowledgements and marketing materials/program at the VIP Reception.
