Description

Our school has been serving Richmond’s families since 1919, and this is an especially wonderful year for us as we celebrate 100 years of service to the children in the Richmond area. We are expecting a record turn out of 350 guests as we are not only celebrating with our current families but are welcoming back the countless alumni that have graced our hallways over the decades.

Today, our families represent over 20 zip codes, and come to us from different communities, backgrounds and experiences, making us a wonderfully diverse community of learners. This event is a major fundraiser for us, helping to bridge the roughly 25% gap between the tuition dollars we receive, and what we actually need to operate. It also allows us to offer tuition assistance to our families.

Additionally, this year we are taking on the task of replacing our aging HVAC system with one that has been built in this century so that we can enter the next 100 years prepared to serve our community.

A donation from the Washington Redskins would be a wonderful addition to our auction. Since we do not have a particularly strong offering when it comes to sports, we are always looking for ways to expose our children to them.  We also strive to underscore the time, dedication and discipline it requires players to participate at a high level of achievement. My own son has just recently started playing basketball and I think it is the first activity we have tried that he hasn’t wanted to give up on because he didn’t get it the first time around. It had been inspiring to watch him push himself to get better.

All of our donors will be listed in printed Gala materials, as well as on our Auction platform with a hyperlink to your website. Additionally, a list of donors will be included in the weekly bulletin of Saint Benedict Catholic Church for all parishioners to receive.
