Description

We are so pleased to return to the Crystal Tea Room for Change the Story: An Evening for Child Advocacy, our largest and most important fundraiser of the year. In addition to raising funds for our important work through donations and our silent auction, the evening also allows us the opportunity to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of friends and colleagues who devote countless hours to our mission and to changing the story for children and families.

We proudly announce that The Kind Family will receive the 2024 Judge Lois G. Forer Child Advocacy Award. Their individual support and involvement, along with the support and funding priorities of the Patricia Kind Family Foundation and the van Ameringen Foundation, continue to speak to the very mission of Child Advocates. We are thankful for their longtime belief in our work, and their steadfast support of other Philadelphia organizations focused on racial justice, economic equality, and access to mental health services for individuals from underserved communities. We will honor Amya-Cassidy B. and Kalid R. as our Andi Broad Distinguished Clients for their courageous journeys, and we will recognize the following Volunteer Attorneys: John F. Ramírez, Practus; Benjamin L. Shechtman, Cozen O'Connor; Elizabeth Vaysman, Vaysman Legal; Katharyn Voit, Duane Morris; Brieanna Wheeland, Atairos; Michaela Dragalin Young, Morgan Lewis Eddie Ohlbaum Distinguished Advocate for Children Award, Brian S.S. Auerbach, Ballard Spahr; Child Advocates Rising Star Awards, Leah N. George, Caesar Rivise and Lindsay C. Miller, Barnes & Thornburg.
