Description

The shortage of affordable housing has created an emergency. Today, 81,042 people are actively on a waitlist for social housing in Toronto. With city-run shelters at 99% capacity, many people are sleeping outside below freezing temperatures for days or months at a time. These individuals depend on the generosity of others to provide essentials like food, clothing, extreme weather supplies, and anything else they need to survive.

That’s where you come in. With your help, by Canadas Wonderland  providing a donation of a family Gift Certificates for a draw during our upcoming event (walk in June) , we can lighten that load and ensure we’re doing our part to be there for each other when it counts the most. By raising money for a draw to win prizes, helps with us buying the  much-needed items that will be distributed through our mobile outreach program, a daily support service that provides everything one needs to survive while sleeping on or near the streets, while also fostering hope and trust as we help rebuild stability in their lives.

You can trust that your donation will make a meaningful, immediate impact through supporting Ve’ahavta. At Ve’ahavta, the ethics of justice, kindness, and responsibility move from guiding principles into tangible actions. Through our social service programs, we address the long-standing societal problem of local poverty and homelessness while simultaneously mobilizing volunteers to act and make a difference. At Ve’ahavta these principles of Judaism come alive in a uniquely Canadian way – inclusive of all backgrounds and faiths and built on the belief that when we all come together with purpose, we can solve even the largest of society’s challenges.

Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to making a difference together.
